vSphere records events in the vCenter Server database. System log entries include such information as who generated the event, when the event was created, and the type of event.

You must have a vSphere Client connected to a vCenter Server.

Required privilege:Global. Diagnostics privilege.

To view system log entries, select Home > Administration > System Logs.

From the drop-down menu, select the log.

(Optional) Click Show All or Show next # lines to see additional log entries.

(Optional) Filter the log entries.

Select View > Filtering.

Type the filter criteria in the filter box.
