To enable DNS resolution on your ESXi hosts, add DNS servers to the ESXi network settings.

In the Configure Management Network menu, select DNS Configuration and press Enter.

In the DNS Configuration dialog box, use the keyboard arrows to select Use the following DNS server addresses and hostname and press the spacebar.

Fill the required input fields to configure the DNS settings of the ESXi host and press Enter.

Primary DNS Server

Type the IP address of the primary DNS server of the ESXi host network.

Alternate DNS Server

Type the IP address of the secondary DNS server of the ESXi host network.

Hostname

Type the hostname of the ESXi host.

You can test the network configuration of the ESXi host.
