You can configure a virtual machine to have up to eight virtual processors or CPUs. The number of licensed CPUs on the host and the number of processors supported by the guest operating system limit the number of virtual processors that you can create.

VMware Virtual SMP is required to power on multiprocessor virtual machines. The Virtual CPUs page appears for multiprocessor hosts.

1

On the CPUs page of the New Virtual Machine wizard, select the number of virtual processors from the drop-down menu.

2

Click Next.

The Memory page opens.

Select the Memory for the virtual machine.
