The Delete Unused Snapshots for Datastore action in vRealize Operations Manager deletes snapshots that are older than the specified age from your datastores. Deleting unused snapshots reclaims wasted space in your environment.

The Delete Unused Snapshots action comprises two linked actions and two dialog boxes. You must first specify the age of the snapshots to retrieve for deletion, then delete the snapshots. The Retrieve Snapshots dialog box displays the datastores and the number of days input value.

The number of days that you specify for each datastore is the age of the snapshots based on the creation date. The Delete Unused Snapshots provides details regarding snapshot name, space consumed, and location so that you can evaluate the snapshots before you delete them. This second action deletes snapshots that are older than the number of days specified.
