You can monitor the replication status of virtual machines in your Disaster Recovery virtual data center from the vCloud Air plug-in. You view this information in the Monitor tab of the Disaster Recovery virtual data center.

The Monitor tab displays all replicated virtual machines, including those in placeholder, test, or recovery state. You can view the following information for each virtual machine.

Column

Description

Replication State

The current replication state of the virtual machine. See the table below for details.

Last Completed

The time that replication was last completed.

Transfer Duration

The time it took to complete the last replication.

Transfer Size

The size of the data that was replicated.

RPO

The Recovery Point Objective set for the virtual machine. RPO is the time interval at which changes made to the source virtual machine are replicated to the cloud.

The Replication state is one of the following.

Replication State

Description

Initial Full Sync

The first full replication of the virtual machine to the cloud, after you configure replication, is in progress.

Full Sync

Full replication is in progress.

Full Sync (RPO violation)

Full replication is in progress but the RPO objective has not been met. RPO is the time interval at which changes made to the source virtual machine are replicated to the cloud.

Sync

Replication is in progress.

Sync (RPO violation)

Replication is in progress but the RPO objective has not been met.

Success

Replication was successful.

Success (RPO violation)

Replication was successful but the RPO objective was not met.

Moving

The virtual machine is being moved to another vSphere Replication server.

Configuring

The virtual machine is being configured.

Paused

Replication has been paused.

Not active

Replication is not running, for example, if the source virtual machine is powered off.

Not active (RPO violation)

Replication is not running and the RPO objective has not been met.

Error

Replication is not running because of the error stated.

Error (RPO Violation)

Replication is not running because of an error and the RPO objective has not been met.

Recovering

The virtual machine is being recovered to the cloud.

Recovered

The virtual machine has been recovered to the cloud.

No actions are available from the Monitor tab.

1

Navigate to the Disaster Recovery virtual data center.

a

In the navigation pane on the left, navigate to vCloud Air Services and click Cloud Instances.

A list of cloud instances appears. Disaster Recovery instances are identified by the Disaster Recovery cloud icon.

b

Double-click the Disaster Recovery instance you want to view.

c

Click the Related Objects tab, click the Virtual Data Centers tab, then double-click the Disaster Recovery virtual data center.

Disaster Recovery virtual data centers are identified by the Disaster Recovery virtual data center icon.

2

Click the Monitor tab to view the replication status of all virtual machines that are being replicated to your Disaster Recovery virtual data center.
