After you install the vCloud Air plug-in, you need to register your vCloud Air account with the plug-in to manage your cloud resources from the vSphere Web Client.

Any proxy settings that are set in the vSphere Web Client webclient.properties file are used. You typically set the proxy settings during installation. See Specify Proxy Settings for more information.

You have a vCloud Air account with an Account Administrator user role.

You have one of the following types of vCloud Air services: Dedicated Cloud, Virtual Private Cloud, or Disaster Recovery.

You have added the SSL certificate of the vCloud Air portal to the trusted keystore of the vSphere Web Client. See Add Certificate to vSphere Web Client Trusted Keystore for information. If you do not add the certificate, you will be unable to register your vCloud Air account with the plug-in.

In the Home page, click the Hybrid Cloud icon (Hybrid Cloud) under Inventories.

In vSphere Web Client 5.5 Update 1, the icon is named vCloud Hybrid Service.

Click the Summary tab.

Click Register vCloud Air account.

In the Register vCloud Air Account dialog box, complete the following information.

A Server Certificate not Verified error indicates that you have not added the required certificate. See Add Certificate to vSphere Web Client Trusted Keystore for information.

The plug-in connects to vCloud Air and displays your cloud inventory. In the navigation pane on the left, click Cloud Instances to view all your Dedicated Cloud and Virtual Private Cloud instances. If you purchased the vCloud Air Disaster Recovery service, your Disaster Recovery cloud instances are also displayed.
