You can recover a virtual machine to the cloud when needed, for example, if the source site is unavailable. When you recover a virtual machine, it becomes a fully functional virtual machine. Replication stops when you recover the virtual machine.

If the plug-in is not affected by the site failure, you can use the plug-in to recover the virtual machine. Otherwise, use the vCloud Air portal.

1

In the vCloud Air plug-in, navigate to your Disaster Recovery cloud instance, then to the Disaster Recovery virtual data center.

2

Click the Related Objects tab, then click the Virtual Machines tab.

3

Select the virtual machine, right-click, and select All vCloud Air Plug-in Actions > Recover.
