Object Storage powered by Google Cloud Platform is a powerful, scalable, simple and cost effective (pay-as-you-go) cloud-based storage service that allows you to store, retrieve and manage a large amount of unstructured data that can be accessed from anywhere globally via the Google Cloud Storage APIs. The vCloud Air Web User Interface (UI) is only used to create a service account (corresponds to an API user), which accesses the API to manage data.

VMware customers will benefit from having both VMware and Google Cloud Platform services on a single hybrid cloud platform, vCloud Air. The existing vCloud Air Virtual Private Cloud OnDemand customers access this service under their existing service contract and will be billed as per the storage plan selected, whereas new customers will need to sign-up for a Virtual Private Cloud OnDemand account.
