Install the Windows guest agent on a Windows reference machines to run as a Windows service and enable further customization of machines provisioned by cloning.

Identify or create the reference machine.

Configure the guest agent to trust a server. See Configuring the Guest Agent to Trust a Server.

Navigate to the vCloud Automation Center Appliance management console installation page.

For example: https://vcac-hostname.domain.name:5480/installation.

Download and save the Windows guest agent files.

Unpack GugentZip_version into the C drive on the reference machine.

This produces the directory C:\VRMGuestAgent. Do not rename this directory.

Configure the guest agent to communicate with the Manager Service by running the following command in an elevated command prompt: winservice -i -h Manager_Service_Hostname_fdqn[:portnumber -p ssl].

If you are not using load balancers in your environment, Manager_Service_Hostname_fdqn[:portnumber, is the fully qualified domain name and port number of the vCloud Automation Center Manager Service.

If your environment uses a Manager Service load balancer, Manager_Service_Hostname_fdqn[:portnumber, is the fully qualified domain name and port number of the load balancer.

For example:

winservice -i -h myIaaS_Server.mycompany.com:443 -p ssl 

The name of the Windows service is VCACGuestAgentService. The installation log VCAC-GuestAgentService.log is in C:\VRMGuestAgent.
