You use dynamic groups and policies to manage resource monitoring in large scale environments.

A dynamic group is a logical collection of resources that are organized by a specific criterion, such as name or type. After you have defined a dynamic group, you can assign one or more policies to manage large environments effectively.

A monitoring policy contains the settings and rules for monitoring resources of a specific type. You can assign a policy to one or more dynamic groups and you can edit a policy that has been assigned, or clone a policy as the basis of a new policy.
