You can add a virtual hard disk and select a disk image on a virtual machine hosted on a remote server.

Verify that the following conditions are met:

You have login credentials for the server where the virtual machine is hosted.

The virtual machine is powered off.

Select File > Connect to Server.

Enter the name of the host server or select a server from the Recent Servers drop-down menu.

Enter your login credentials and click Connect.

Select Virtual Machine > Settings.

Click Add Device.

Click Hard Disk.

Select a .vmdk file from the File name drop-down menu.

Use the disk size slider to specify the size of the virtual disk.

(Optional) Expand Advanced options and select a bus type and choose how to allocate the disk space.
