The preconfigured backup templates enable you to standardize your database backups and enforce resource limitations. Organization administrators and organization users with sufficient privileges can modify the templates' default settings or create custom backup templates.

Data Director includes the following preconfigured backup templates. Each template has system-controlled start times.

Disabled.

No backups are taken.

Development.

Schedules snapshot backups every 24 hours and external backups each week. PITR is disabled.

Auto.

Schedules snapshot backups every 12 hours with retention period of 24 hours and external backups each day. External backup retention time is 1 month. PITR is enabled. If PITR storage runs out, the available PITR timeline is adjusted and the oldest archived WAL segments are deleted automatically.

Standard.

Same settings as Auto. If PITR storage runs out, the database is suspended.

Maximum.

Schedules snapshots every 4 hours with retention period of 48 hours, and external backups taken every 12 hours with retention time of 1 month. PITR is enabled. If PITR storage runs out, the database is suspended.
