The Web Management console requires a static IP address or FQDN. To access the Web Management console, point a web browser to this address.

If you want to use the Express setup, you must assign a static IP address for use by the Web Management console. If you assign a FQDN, the Express setup option is disabled, and you must use the Advanced setup.

Plan the network setup for your environment. See the vFabric Data Director Worksheets.

Have an IP address that you can assign to the Web Management console.

(Optional) If DNS is enabled and you want to use a FQDN for the Web Management console, have the IP address of the DNS server and a FQDN to assign to the Web Management console.

1

Enter the IP address to use with the Web Management console.

If using a FQDN, leave the IP address as 0.0.0.0 and enter the FQDN in the Fully Qualified Domain Name text box.

2

If you entered a static IP address, enter a valid netmask.

3

(Optional) Enter the IP address of the DNS server.

If the vCenter Server or any ESXi host is resolved using a FQDN, you must enter a DNS address.

4

(Optional) Enter the FQDN to use with the Web Management console.

The use of a FQDN requires DDNS in the Web Console network.

5

Click Next to continue.

Record the IP address or FQDN you assigned to the Web Management console. You will use this address to access the Web Management console using a web browser.
