You can log in to the Data Director for Hadoop Web console using a Web browser. The Web console is the graphical user interface that you use to perform administrative tasks when operating Data Director for Hadoop.

This task explains how to log in to the Web Console directly. You can also open the Data Director for Hadoop Web console from the Data Director Web console. See Access the Data Director for Hadoop Web Console from Data Director.

Use a vSphere Client to log in to the vCenter Server on which you deployed the vApp.

Verify that Data Director for Hadoop vApp deployment was successful, and that the Management Server is running.

Verify that you have the correct password to log in to the Data Director for Hadoop Web Console. See Create a New Password for the Web Console.

In the vSphere Client, select the Management Server and click the Summary tab to see the server's IP address.

Open a Web browser to connect to the Management Server using the following URL.

https://ip_address/datadirector

The IP address is the address of the Management Server.

Log in to the Management Server as the user serengeti with the default password (which is password) or with a new password if the password has been changed.

Download and install the Serengeti CLI console. The CLI console provides a more comprehensive set of system management and monitoring tools. See Download and Use the CLI Console.

Optionally, you may want to change the username and password assigned to the Management Server in the vSphere Client. See Generate a New Password for the Serengeti Management Server.
