What’s New

The NSX-vRO Plug-In 1.0.5 addresses specific concurrency issues while invoking the workflow for adding load balancers to an edge in NSX. This release works with NSX versions 6.2.x and 6.3.x.

System Requirements and Installation

System Requirements

  • Verify that you are running a vRealize Orchestrator (vRO) instance.
  • Verify that you have credentials for an account with permission to install vRO plug-ins and to authenticate through vCenter Single Sign-On.
  • Verify that you have installed a vRO client and that you can log in with administrator credentials.

Installation Procedure

  1. Download the plug-in file to a location accessible from the vRO server. The plug-in installer filename is o11nplug-in-nsx-1.0.5.vmoapp. The plug-in installation file for NSX is available from the VMware product download site, under VMware NSX > Drivers & Tools.
  2. Open a browser and launch the vRO Control Center. An example URL is: https://orchestrator_server.com:8283/vco-controlcenter.
  3. Scroll down to Plug-ins and click Manage Plug-Ins
  4. Click Browse to open the plug-in installer file and click Install to start the installation. The file must be in .vmoapp format.
  5. Accept the license agreement when prompted.
  6. Restart the vRO server.
  7. Once the server has restarted, re-launch the vRO Control Center.
  8. In the Plug-ins section, click Manage Plug-Ins and confirm that NSX 1.0.5.5508763 is listed, where 5508763 is the build number.

Upgrade Notes

If you have a vRO 6.0.x or 7.0 instance running with the vRO-NSX plug-in 1.0.x installed, and you have credentials for an account with permission to install vRO plug-ins and to authenticate through vCenter Single Sign-On, then you can upgrade to the new vRO-NSX plug-in 1.0.5 as described below.

  1. Download the plug-in file to a location accessible from the vRO server. The plug-in installer filename is o11nplug-in-nsx-1.0.5.vmoapp. The plug-in installation file for NSX is available from the VMware product download site, under VMware NSX > Drivers & Tools.
  2. Open a browser and launch the vRO Control Center. An example URL is: https://orchestrator_server.com:8283/vco-controlcenter.
  3. Scroll down to Plug-ins and click Manage Plug-Ins. Confirm that NSX 1.0.x.<build-number> is listed.
  4. Click Browse to open the plug-in installer file and click Install to start the installation. The file must be in .vmoapp format.
  5. Accept the license agreement when prompted.
  6. The following message is displayed: “Plug-in 'NSX' (1.0.5 build 5508763) has overwritten existing plug-in with version (1.0.x build <build number>)”, with the version number of the old plug-in and its build number. This confirms that the vRO-NSX plug-in has been upgraded to the new version.
  7. Restart the vRO server.
  8. Once the server has restarted, re-launch the vRO Control Center.
  9. In the Plug-ins section, click Manage Plug-Ins and confirm that NSX 1.0.5.5508763 is listed, where 5508763 is the build number.

Known Issues

None.

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed Issue: Multi machine NSX deployment failed due to VSM response error (101): Concurrent object access error. Fixed in 1.0.5.
