System log entries include such information as who generated the event, when the event was created, and the type of event.

Connect to an ESX/ESXi host by using the vSphere Client.

Required privilege:Global. Diagnostics privilege.

To view system log entries, select Home > Administration > System Logs.

From the drop-down menu, select the log.

(Optional) Click Show All or Show next # lines to see additional log entries.

(Optional) Filter the log entries.

Select View > Filtering.

Type the filter criteria in the filter box.
