You can set up a network in your virtual machine by adding a network adapter.

Before you add a network adapter, make sure that your ESX host has port groups configured to which the virtual machine can connect.

On the Network Adapter page, click Add a Network Adapter.

On the Properties page, select the virtual network to connect to from the Network Connection drop-down menu.

To connect the network adapter to the network when you power on the virtual machine, select the Connect at Power On check box.

This option is selected by default.

Click Next.

The network adapter is now configured and is added to the virtual machine hardware.
