You can specify the amount of memory to allocate for a new virtual machine. You can also specify the number of processors to use.

The maximum amount of memory per virtual machine is 255GB for hardware version 7.0.

In the Processors section on the Memory and Processors page, allocate memory for the virtual machine.

Enter Custom Memory Amount

Enter an amount of memory in the Size field.

Important

Do not enter a value lower than the recommended minimum. This could prevent the guest operating system from running.

Recommended Size

Allocates the memory size that VMware recommends.

Recommended Minimum

Allocates the minimum memory size that VMware recommends.

Recommended Maximum

Allocates the maximum memory size that VMware recommends.

In the Processors section, select the number of processors to use in the Count drop-down menu.

Important

VMware recommends that you do not reconfigure the number of processors after you install the guest operating system.
