If you want to create an account for a client that is based on its MAC address, you can use View Client to discover the MAC address of the client device.

Log in on the console of the client.

To display the MAC address, type the appropriate command for your platform.

Enter C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Client\bin\wswc -printEnvironmentInfo

View Client uses the default View Connection Server instance that you configured for it. If you have not configured a default value, View Client prompts you for the value.

The command displays the IP address, MAC address, and machine name of the client device.

Linux

Enter vmware-view --printEnvironmentInfo -s connection_server

You must specify the IP address or FQDN of the View Connection Server instance that View Client will use to connect to the desktop.

The command displays the IP address, MAC address, machine name, domain, name and domain of any logged-on user, and time zone of the client device.

Add accounts for the clients.
