RHEL: Install vFabric RabbitMQ Java Client Libraries

vFabric RabbitMQ provides client libraries for Java. The Java client library allows Java code to interface to AMQP servers, such as vFabric RabbitMQ Server. The library is platform-neutral. The Java client library is distributed as an RPM for RHEL computers.

  1. From the RHEL computer on which you will install the Java libraries, log in as the root user (or as a user who has sudo privileges) and start a terminal.

  2. Execute the yum install command to install the Java libraries:

    prompt# yum install vfabric-rabbitmq-java-client-bin

The yum command resolves dependencies and displays the packages it plans to install. When prompted, enter y to being the installation.

If necessary, use sudo to run the preceding command if you are not logged in as the root user.

If the installation is successful, you see a Complete! message at the end.

The yum command installs the vFabric RabbitMQ Java libraries into the /opt/vmware/rabbitmq-java-client directory and sets the owner of all the sub-directories and files to root:root.
