What's new

This release of vRealize Infrastructure Navigator contains the following new updates:

  • New DLF is introduced to support new CPU based SKU
  • ISO is provided as part of VMware downloads page for local upgrade of vRealize Infrastructure Navigator instance

Upgrades to this release

Before you upgrade vRealize Infrastructure Navigator to 5.8.7 version, ensure to take a backup of Postgres.

  • To take a backup - /opt/vadm-db-config/bin/backup_db.sh "$BACKUP_DEST_DIR/$BACKUP_PREFIX"
  • To restore the data after upgrade, if required - /opt/vadm-db-config/bin/restore_db.sh [full path of the compressed backup file
  • To upgrade your current version, ensure that you are running vRealize Infrastructure Navigator 5.8.2 or later by performing the following:
    1. Select VAMI UI > Update Settings > Update Repository.
    2. Internet - Select Use Default Repository option.
    3. ISO - Download ISO from VMware download page. Attach the ISO to vRealize Infrastructure Navigator VM and select Use CDROM Updates option.

Resolved Issues

  • vRealize Infrastructure Navigator does not display Site Recovery Management (SRM) integration option when you have installed SRM as a shared recovery site
    The Site Recovery Management (SRM) integration option is not enabled in vRealize Infrastructure Navigator when a different extension key is used after installation. This issue is resolved in this release.

Security

  • JRE is updated to version 1.8.0_101
  • TC server is updated to version 3.1.5
  • Postgres is updated to version 9.3.13
  • OpenSSL is updated to 1.0.2h

Limitations and Known Issues

The following issue is known to occur in this release.

  • After you upgrade vRealize Infrastructure Navigator to version 5.8.6, the vRealize Infrastructure Navigator extension is not visible in the vCenter Server vSphere Web Client.

  • Workaround:
    1. Power off and power on the vRealize Infrastructure Navigator virtual machine from the vCenter Server vSphere Web Client to install the vCenter certificate.
    2. Restart the Web Client service.

    The vRealize Infrastructure Navigator extension appears in the vCenter Server vSphere Web Client.
