Resolved Issues

This section contains resolved issues since vCenter Support Assistant 6.0.2 and later releases.

  • The monthly email report states that no bundles were received while vCenter Support Assistant shows a successful upload:

If vCenter Support Assistant is not authorized to collect data from any vCenter Server instances but proactive collection and upload is scheduled, only data about the configuration and usage of vCenter Support Assistant product is sent to VMware. The upload is displayed as successful in the Monitor tab of the UI, but the monthly report states that no bundles were received and scanned for potential problems.

This problem is fixed. In such a case, the upload is not displayed as successful and the user is notified of the error.

  • During installation vCenter Support Assistant fails to authorize vCenter Server instances due to a problem with alarm name:

When installing vCenter Support Assistant in an environment where a previous version of the product was used, in rare cases, the authorization of vCenter Server instances may fail due to a problem with alarm name. As a result, proactive support cannot be configured for this vCenter Server and its logs cannot be gathered and attached to a support request.

The probability for the issue to occur is higher if the vCenter Server contains a large number of other alarm definitions.

    This problem is fixed.
